History
•Otherton airfield originated as RAF Penkridge in 1942. established as the base for 28 EFTS. Many WWII pilots started their flying careers at Otherton. Their training was on Tiger Moths. It closed after WWII but the airfield reopened when the Staffordshire Aero Club made it their base in the 1980s The club has developed the airfield ever since.

In the Summer of 1994 when members of Staffordshire Aero Club weren't allowed to fly one Sunday every month because of horse activities in an adjoining field, motorcycle members went riding. I remember rides to Hay-on-Wye and Llandudno but I believe others were undertaken. Pictures of the Llandudno ride are shown below. On this occasion Ray Perry led the wing up the Great Orme. The first picture shows us arriving and preparing before a Fish & Chip lunch. The second shows us on the sea front.
